The Heart Behind the Lens

A little About Me

I’m a North Carolina transplant from Long Island, NY—so yes, I most definitely have an accent! I’m passionate about being a wife, a mommy, and a follower of Jesus. I’ve been blessed to know and love my husband for most of my life—we grew up together as young teens in love, and now we’re raising our babies together and living a life we cherish. I have three beautiful boys who call me "mama" and I love all things motherhood. Hence, my obsession with capturing all the precious moments that are passing us by too quickly. I strive to always see the many blessings, beauty, and joys that fill this beautiful life.

You can often find me jamming out to Forrest Frank, in the kitchen trying a new dinner recipe, listening to a podcast or a birth story (obviously, right?), being silly with my family, chatting with friends on Marco Polo, editing at ungodly hours of night, and—of course—always with a baby on my hip!!

My heart for photography

Since becoming a mom, I often say, "life feels like sand slipping through my fingers." No matter how much I try to savor the moments, it still feels like time is flying by too quickly. I often wish I could bottle up these moments in time—this season filled with pregnancies, births, nursing babies, and raising young children—and keep them as a time capsule for when this chapter of life has passed. Photos have the unique ability to preserve the moments, seasons, and memories that make up our lives. I treasure the thousands of photos I have of my babies, my family, and everyday life because they freeze time and create tangible memories. I’m passionate about preserving these memories and documenting life as we live it, so it can be cherished forever.

As a lifestyle photographer, I believe the best photos are those that represent the true nature of our connections. My favorite photos are the ones that showcase real, raw moments of love, laughter and unique bonds. During a session with me, I like to keep things loose and free, allowing you to feel comfortable and natural. Come ready to enjoy the experience—no stress, just real moments! If you have little ones, don’t be too worried about them sitting still! I love movement, and the goal is to have fun and capture those lively, joyful moments. While I'll offer a few prompts and gentle guidance, my aim is to document authentic, true to life memories that honor your story and season you're in!

Why Birth?

Well, here’s a behind-the-scenes photo of me capturing a birth story—it radiates joy. I have an overflowing passion and admiration for birth in all of its raw beauty. This sacred space is one to be honored, cherished and remembered. Birth is nothing short of a miraculous, life-changing experience. Some of life’s deepest and most intense emotions can be found in the birth space: excitement, anticipation, fear, pain, overwhelming love, unwavering support, unmatched strength, and pure joy. The ability to capture and preserve these raw, authentic moments is what drew my heart to birth photography.

Some of my favorite photos from my own births are the ones that embody the love and support I felt during labor. I treasure the photos of those first moments when I held my babies in my arms—relieved from the hard work that brought them earth side and overwhelmed with joy at the sight of their precious faces. When I look at those photos, I’m instantly transported back to those moments.

Remember when I said I love listening to birth stories?! They’re shared with others and reflected on from the moment they happen, on first birthdays, and throughout a child’s life. From the details of birth time and measurements to every aspect of labor and delivery, we share these stories with family and friends, and keep them engraved on our hearts. Photos taken during labor and delivery capture the strength, support, and the purest truth of this monumental moment in time.  These images have the unique ability to express this beautiful story in ways words cannot fully express.
